Plan a Twilight party or host a Twilight book club to celebrate Meyer's world of vampires.
New Moon, the latest film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's popular Twilight series, comes out in theaters October 21, 2009. The movies, like the books, have sparked a craze of interest in Meyer's world of vampires, unconditional love, and good versus evil.
Here are some suggestions for celebrating Twilight with teens or adults.
How to Host a Twilight Party
Invite guests to a themed Twilight party or slumber party, for younger fans. Plan a few of the following activities:
Offer sparkle body spray at the door for anyone who wants vampire skin.
Encourage guests to come dressed in costume as their favorite Twilight character and stay in character for the event, though insist no one is allowed to attack or eat other guests! Offer prizes at the end for the person most like his or her character.
Suggest guests bring their favorite book from the Twilight series with a passage or two marked. Invite all the guests to perform an oral reading of their favorite scenes in turn.
Select a scene from one of the novels, and encourage more dramatically inclined guests to perform an improvisation of the scene.
If weather permits, hold a race for the fastest vampire. Encourage all dressed as vampires to participate, and give a prize to the winner. For added fun, invite those dressed as werewolves to chase the vampires and give them an added incentive.
Serve human food and red punch, blood for the vampires.
Other activities can, of course, be added or substituted.
How to Lead a Twilight Book Club
Brush up on Twilight trivia and prepare to see the new movie by re-reading the Twilight series with a group. Ask a library or other community center for free space, if needed, and jump into the world of Twilight all over again.
Find other interested people, or host the group for young adults. Set a weekly or monthly date, and encourage everyone to read certain portions of each Twilight book before every meeting, breaking the books down into chunks depending on how often the group will meet.
Begin each book club with some reflection questions, such as:
What happened since last time?
What did you like about the reading? What didn't you like?
What events occurred that confused or upset you? Why?
What characters do you like? What characters do you dislike? Explain.
What do you wish had happened differently, and why?
Twilight Series and Romance
Romance is a major theme through the Twilight series. Encourage participants to think of the image of love Meyer portrays throughout the series and what love means to all of the main characters.
Twilight in the Community
The Twilight book club can branch out from just reading and reflecting with the following ideas:
Invite an outside person to attend a club meeting dressed as a Twilight character and engage the group in character.
Take donations for reading a certain number of pages within a certain amount of time, keep a chart of the group's progress, and donate the money to the American Red Cross's Blood Drive.
Encourage participants to host a blood drive or volunteer at one in the community as a group.
Prepare a play based on a scene from one of the Twilight books and offer the event to the community.
Attend New Moon in theatres as a group, and discuss how the movie was different from the book at the next meeting.
With some creativity and work, one can use the Twilight craze to promote literarcy and fun among fans. As the next Twilight movie approaches, take the opportunity to enjoy the series again for some heavy but light reading.

hey. In Breaking Dawn I think there should be another book. Heres my idea,
I'm only 11 and I'm a huge fan so just think about my idea plz. Ok bella
believes here family is not complete think she should have a son. And that
finds a vampire son that feels like her own, any age. And the son finds a
girl exactly like bella as a young girl. The son falls in love with her.
Then the whole family wonders if god had the girl created to display
bella's life if she didn't become immortal. Now that the vampire falls in
love the family isn't sure if the girl should know the secret or not, and
now it's a mystery because she could become in danger, now that true love
finds a different turn of bella and edwards past they wonder if they took
the wrong path.
