Everworld by K.A. Applegate (Scholastic, 1999)

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer (Miramax, 2003)

This 6 book series has been described as “Die Hard with fairies” and offers something for everyone in the 12 and up age category. In a flip of the usual hero archetype, Artemis Fowl is a criminal boy-genius set out to save his criminal family from the brink of destruction. With a delightful mix of fairies, high-tech gadgets, and legendary hijinks, Artemis Fowl is sure to please.
